How to Restore Original Mouse Settings (Windows 7)

Yesterday, one of our Facebook page friends had a problem with her mouse not working on a Windows 7 OS. Here are bits of the conversation and how her problem was solved (restored the original mouse settings). (Note: I'm not really well-versed when it comes to translation. I'll omit some phrases/sentences as well to make the process understandable.)

Friend:
kuya ask lng ko kung aha mn dapita ka mangita kng gusto nimo usbon ang shortcut sa keyboard ug mouse?
May I ask where can I change the shortcuts for the keyboard and mouse?

Me:
shortcut?? like kung K imong pisliton, L ang mugawas? hehe
Shortcut? Like when you press "K", it shows up with "L"?

Friend:

No.

Me:
awwp.. hehe. sa unsa nga program?
For what program specifically?

Friend:
kuan mn gud d nah maright click ang mouse ky gihilabtan sko manghud gneha
dli na sd mascroll down nd up
The problem is that the right-click function of my mouse doesn't seem to work anymore. My brother/sister might have done something to cause this. I also can't scroll down and up.

Me:
ahhh..
pero ma left click pa?
I see. But you can still use the left-click button?

Friend:
ou
Yes.

Me:
unsay operating system ninyo diha... XP, vista, 7??
On what operating system are you on? XP, Vista, or 7?

Friend:
7

Me:
click daw start.. then type in "mouse" nya enter
pede pud dili lang nimo i enter deretso..

On your desktop, click on "Start", then type in "mouse" on the search bar.

Click "Start".

>
Type in "mouse" on the search bar.

Friend:

Me:

Can you see "Mouse", "Change how your mouse works", "Control the computer without the mouse and keyboard", etc. listed after typing "mouse" on the search bar?

Friend:
ou makita
unsa mn ako pilion?
Yes. I see them. Which one do I choose?

Me:
"change how your mouse works"
Click on "Change how your mouse works".

Friend:
daun?
Then?

Me:
dayon naay "turn on mousekeys" nga checkbox dara... dapat unchecked na.
ok na??
Do you see the "Turn on Mouse Keys" checkbox? That should be unchecked.

By default, your settings should be like this.

Friend:
uncheckd mn
ok na kuya
Yes it's unchecked. It's OK now.

Me:
aww hehe

Friend:
lamat keu
Thank you so much.

Additional Info:

You can also check on the "Move the pointer with the keypad using MouseKeys" (Make the keyboard easier to use) settings and see if all checkboxes are unchecked (except on the "Turn on Toggle Keys" sub-option) as shown below:
